Everything you need to know about the AEX index: from the current price and chart to the price development of the AEX.
The Amsterdam Exchange index, or AEX for short, is an index of stocks that are traded on the EURONEXT Amsterdam. Established in 1983, the index is made up of the 25 most actively traded stocks on the exchange.
The AEX isn’t one of the main global stock market indexes that everyone’s heard of, but it is a key indicator of the Dutch economy as a whole. It lists well-known Dutch blue-chip companies such as Heineken and Royal Dutch Shell. The index reached a peak in September 2000 at the height of the dot-com bubble.
